Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of the classic Metal Gear Solid 3, is set to be released on August 28, 2025, as indicated by what appears to be a leak from the PlayStation Store.

Konami’s reimagining of the PlayStation 2 stealth-action game has recently shifted from a previously suggested 2024 release date, with a new trailer also surfacing through the PlayStation App version of the store.

Additionally, a collaboration with Ape Escape has been hinted at, accompanied by a message stating “And More,” which suggests the possibility of further crossovers being introduced in the game.

The initial reference seems to nod to the original Metal Gear Solid 3, which included a minigame where Snake would use stun grenades and his “Monkey Shaker” gun to neutralize animals.

The reasons behind the sudden appearance of the release date and trailer remain unclear. However, if the rumors regarding an upcoming Sony PlayStation State of Play showcase are accurate, it is possible that this information was released prematurely, a significant error in the realm of stealth action.

Aside from the introduction of a new first-person perspective, the game is expected to closely mirror the original. “Metal Gear Solid Delta appears to be more of a polished HD remaster rather than the sophisticated remake it had the potential to be.”
