NVIDIA has released a patch to resolve the gamepad issues that players encountered while playing Stalker 2 through its GeForce Now service. Multiple players have verified that the problem has been successfully resolved. If you are still experiencing difficulties, please share your feedback in the comments section below.
NVIDIA is currently investigating a frustrating issue affecting players of Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl on its GeForce Now streaming platform. Numerous players have reported problems with gamepads malfunctioning, rendering the highly anticipated game nearly unplayable for those relying on controllers. NVIDIA officially acknowledged the issue in a service status update on November 25, confirming that they are looking into the problem. However, a timeline for a fix has not been announced yet.
Users on the GeForce Now subreddit have reported a frustrating issue with gamepads in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Although the game recognizes gamepads, it fails to register input during gameplay. This problem has persisted for over a week, causing disappointment among players who purchased the game expecting full controller support. One player expressed their frustration, stating that despite spending $60 on the game, they couldn’t play it with a controller on GeForce Now. While some users have suggested a temporary workaround using GeForce Now’s virtual mouse and keyboard to adjust controller settings via the Steam client, this solution is not ideal and a proper fix is still needed.
Compounding the issues, Stalker 2 is also experiencing problems on Xbox. Players using Game Pass for PC have reported frequent crashes and save file corruption, resulting in significant loss of progress. Additionally, the developers are addressing a controller issue on the platform. In an attempt to circumvent the GeForce Now problem, some players have tried Boosteroid, another cloud gaming service. Although controllers reportedly function correctly on Boosteroid, many users have been deterred by lag and performance issues, opting to wait for NVIDIA’s fix instead.
Currently, NVIDIA is actively working on resolving the issue, and the Stalker 2 developers are also acknowledging and addressing ongoing performance bugs across various platforms. In the interim, players may need to exercise patience or seek temporary workarounds until NVIDIA releases a formal update. We will continue to monitor developments and provide updates to this article as more information becomes available.
